In my Web Design course, I reimagined the Amtrak mobile app to create a smoother, more intuitive travel experience. The existing app presented challenges—cluttered navigation, heavy promotional content, and unclear trip organization—that made essential actions like booking and managing trips feel cumbersome.
My approach focused on simplifying the user journey and emphasizing clarity. Using Figma, I redesigned the interface from the ground up, introducing a streamlined home screen centered around upcoming trips and a simplified bottom navigation bar for faster access. I also developed a cohesive UI kit that unified typography, color, and component behavior, ensuring visual consistency across every screen.
The final prototype feels modern, accessible, and travel-ready—reducing friction for users while reinforcing Amtrak’s commitment to reliability and connection. This project strengthened my understanding of design systems, auto layout, and user-first problem solving within app design.
